About Ayrika

Ayrika Johnson was raised at the foothills of the Rocky Mountains in Colorado. She is a designer, assistant, historian, and amateur bread baker.

Having received her Bachelors of Arts at the University of Northern Colorado, she majored in both History and Theatre Studies- focusing on Costume Design. Upon graduating Summa Cum Laude, she is continuing her education at the University of California-Irvine. Ayrika’s experience includes a variety of disciplines from Repertory Theatre, Dance Concerts, and Indie Film Productions.

In addition to her theatrical interests, she has also pursued historical fashion research in her free time. Published twice, she has recently spoken at her second Costume Society of America conference in October of 2021.

With her focus on social history and desire to share stories with new audiences, her designs are reflective of the narratives and people she meets in life.
